Taffy originally came to our care without a name, but was named Taffy because of the beautiful pink and red feathers that speckle his chest! Taffy shares a cage with their best buddy, Strudel, and the two spend their days making their cage a home ❤️(aka tearing up their papers to make a newspaper nest and making sure that their food is everywhere except for their bowl.) Taffy seems to be slightly more open to interacting with staff and humans. So far we are able to give Taffy a brief foot massage through the cages bars… but hey! Progress is progress!
Like so many birds that land at TGF, Taffy and Strudel are looking for new homes after the passing of their previous owner. These situations are so difficult – we can tell that these birds were well loved in their previous home but the reality of working with such long-lived animals is that sometimes a loving home can’t be a forever home.
