Description
Cocoa is a wild caught male red-lored amazon. Cocoa joined The Gabriel Foundation in 1998 after a rescue where 37 birds, including Cocoa, were left to freeze in Colorado’s varied climate. Among the 37 birds rescued was Cocoa’s good friend Wilbur. Unfortunately Wilbur passed away in 2018 from cancer leaving Cocoa single. Six months later Cocoa met Biff, a male blue fronted amazon just like Wilbur. The two became quick friends and now share a cage. Neither bird is hand tamed, though both are very curious of and interested in people.
