Our training and behavior consulting services offer a gentle, efficient approach to a better relationship with your bird. We have experienced trainers and behavior consultants whose goal is to help YOU enrich the live(s) of the birds you live with and to learn to co-exist successfully.
There’s some overlap between the two, but generally training involves teaching our learner a new behavior! For example, scheduling a training session is a good option if you want to teach your bird how to wear a harness, how to step up, or to participate in voluntary grooming procedures.
A behavior consult means we are working to change an existing undesired behavior. Scheduling a behavior consult would be recommended if you are dealing with excessive vocalization, an increase in lunging or biting behaviors, or other unwanted behaviors.
If you are still unsure whether you need a training session or behavior consult, you are welcome to submit the form to the best of your ability, and our behavior team can help you determine which would be the best option for you and your bird.
We offer assistance through zoom, email, phone, and in person sessions on site at TGF. At this time, we do not offer in-home consulting, but we have found Zoom sessions to be an excellent method of communicating with our clients from the comfort of their homes!
Birds adopted from The Gabriel Foundation: Our mission is to ensure successful placement of our flock, and as such offer free lifetime behavioral support for birds adopted from TGF.
Birds not from TGF: Pricing will vary depending on what specifically you would like help with, but there’s no fee to submit the contact form! A general price is $200 for a two hour consultation.
Once our behavior team has the information in the form below, they’ll contact you about scheduling and pricing.
We recommend getting professional help for behavior problems sooner than later, but if you aren’t sure if you’d like to seek consulting or training assistance quite yet we recommend the following websites and books as resources!
