Alphonse – Blue-Throated Macaw

Description

Alphonse is a male blue-throated macaw who hatched in 1998 and joined The Gabriel Foundation in 1999. Due to the critical endangerment of blue throated macaws in the wild, Alphonse is a lesson in conservation. With roughly 100 of these birds left in the wild, education about these beautiful birds is a necessity. Alphonse is used for many educational outreach programs and will be a lifelong companion for Juliette, a female blue throated macaw here at The Gabriel Foundation.
