Description
Rio is a playful macaw, bonded with another male military macaw named Saul! Rio’s caregivers haven’t heard any mimics from him, but he does have a silly, tongue wiggling behavior, when his caregivers blow raspberries at him he’ll stick his tongue out and wiggle it back at them! They’re unsure if it’s a trained behavior from his previous home, or if it developed organically and was inadvertantly reinforced by reactions from caregivers over time. Rio is an impassioned dancer, and a big fan of Amy Winehouse, though he prefers dancing when his caregivers sing for him, versus playing music on their phones for him. Rio loves lots of showering opportunities from moving water. Rio and Saul’s favorite toys are balled up newspaper with treats hidden inside for foraging, phone books, and cardboard!
