If you’ve made a trip to TGF recently, you’ve likely met our newest lobby resident, Obie! Obie is everything that you would expect from a cockatoo – he’s loud, boisterous, playful, destructive, and maybe just a little kooky!
Obie was transferred to our care from another Colorado shelter. Obie was originally adopted from this shelter but unfortunately had to be returned to their care. Adopting Obie out the first time was quite difficult for them as they primarily worked with cats and dogs, so his return meant that he would probably have another long wait before finding another home. Their team decided that Obie would have better chances at finding a new home with us, and well, the rest is history! We’ve loved getting to know Obie during his time with us. He’s not the most handleable guy and he’s also got the pipes of a freight train. We have our fingers crossed that Obie will be able to land into a wonderful and long-lasting home, but until then, we are so happy that he has the opportunity to spend time with our experienced team and around other birds!
