A sponsorship is a monthly or yearly commitment that you make to support one of the birds in our care. A majority of the birds in our sponsorship program are birds that are in “sanctuary” with us, meaning they are life time residents! A bird can be placed in sanctuary for a number of reasons including but not limited to:
– medical concerns
– behavioral concerns
– owner preference
– protected and endangered species
We have over 200 birds in our care that are available for sponsorship. By signing up to be a monthly sponsor, you’re ensuring that ALL members of our flock can continue to have a healthy and balanced diet, have daily interaction with our highly knowledgeable and trained staff, and have access to appropriate enrichment! The monthly sponsorships vary from $10 to $70 based on the size of the bird. Our sponsors receive written and photo updates on their birds!
Your financial support is critical to help us provide the absolute best in care for the 200+ parrots that reside at our Aviary and Adoption Center, in accordance with the mission and purpose and best practices Standards of Care of The Gabriel Foundation. When you sponsor a bird, you help TGF provide for the short and long term needs of our flock, including:
✅ Nutritious, well balanced diets that include fresh greens, vegetables, fruit, legumes, grains, nuts, seeds, Lafeber’s Nutriberries, Mazuri, and Harrison’s Bird Diets
✅ Medical services and quality supportive care provided by veterinarians with a special interest in avian medicine
✅ Indoor & Outdoor habitats with enriched environments and foraging opportunities
✅ Daily hands-on care & interaction, bird-to-bird social interaction, frequent bathing and attention to special-needs birds, highly skilled aviary technicians and 24/7 on-site personnel
When you choose to sponsor a specific bird, you will receive photos and personalized updates about that bird, so you can follow their journey and see the difference you’re making. General flock sponsors will receive updates and photos highlighting the overall impact of our rescue efforts.
If a fundraising campaign is ever designated for a specific bird’s medical or specialized care, we’ll clearly state that in the campaign details!
We may have multiple sponsors for each bird in our care because the actual cost of providing for them far exceeds our advertised sponsorship amount. On average, it costs around $330 per month to meet a single bird’s needs, including high-quality food, medical care, enrichment, housing, and staff support. To ensure every bird receives the best possible care, we rely on multiple sponsors contributing toward their well-being. This shared sponsorship model helps us provide for all the birds in our program while keeping sponsorship accessible to more supporters!
